When using Images/Clip Art and Audio/Music from the web, it is the teacher's responsibility to check the restrictions/copyright information on how the media may be used. Many of the sites below are royalty free (meaning you can use them in projects without permission), but you still need to cite where your media was taken from.
Images/Clip Art:
ClipArt, etc: Free clip art designed for use by students & teachers.
Pics4Learning: Images (mostly photographs) donated by students, teachers, and amatuer photographers for use by students & teachers.
LIFE Images: Historical images from LIFE magazine, hosted by Google.
Classroom Clipart: Watermarked clipart for use in classrooms. The clipart on this site will list the source at the bottom of the picture.
Audio/Music Resources:
FreePlay Music: Music that can be downloaded and used in school projects, but NOT uploaded to the web. Search by style or feel. When downloading, choose the mp3 file, not the preview.
Partners in Rhyme: Free sound effects, loops, and music files that can be downloaded and used freely. You will have to login to authenticate this site. All of the files are not free, so make sure you stay on the free sites.
IncompeTech: Music and scores searchable by feel, genre, and keywords. The site will allow you to preview the music first before downloading.
